Jonathan Reid Fulton

Aeryn Fulton was born and raised with a name she no longer uses. She used to be known as Jonathan Reid Fulton. That name obviously no longer suited her as a grown woman, and so she has changed it. Some people with a complicated gender history choose to keep that fact about themselves private, to protect themselves from physical violence and online trolls who stalk and threaten transwomen. Aeryn has experienced such attacks first hand, but has decided to make her story public, both to help others in her situation, and to show the bullies that she has nothing to hide from them. Her willingness to connect herself to her prior name, Jonathan Reid Fulton, does not imply that she passes any judgment on other people who still feel safer keeping their private lives private. Jonathan Reid Fulton is also the name that Aeryn had when she attended medical and graduate school. She has many good friends from those times in her life that she would love to reconnect with. She is making such contact possible through this and other online profiles, so that anyone searching for Jonathan Fulton will find Aeryn and be able to make contact as they see fit.For those who choose not to follow up on that, but are just interested in an update: Aeryn is happy and doing well for herself in Pittsburgh. She is returning to the practice of clinical medicine, aiming eventually for private practice in primary care. She is most interested in social justice and addressing the profound disparities in access to care for members of the GLBT community as well as for other marginalized minorities.
